Anche quest’anno è arrivata la Pasqua e ci prendiamo una piccola pausa.

MasterPrefs è un nuovo Tweak che verrà rilasciato nei prossimi giorni in Cydia, che ci permetterà di attivare e disattivare quasi tutti i Tweak attualmente conosciuti tramite un’unica e sola applicazione. Ecco un’anteprima video:

Come possiamo vedere l’applicazione avrà un menu principale dal quale potremo personalizzare:

• Le icone
• Le etichette
• La Statusbar
• Il Dock
• La Lockscreen

Ciascuna di queste sezioni avrà dei piccoli toggle che attiveranno e disattiveranno specifici Tweak, come ad esempio Five Icons Dock, Five Rows, il Wiggling etc.

ZodTTD ha rilasciato un nuovo aggiornamento per gpSPhone, l’emulatore del Gameboy Advence per iPhone ed iPod Touch. La versione 5.0 apporta tanti cambiamenti, migliora le prestazioni generali e quelle relative all’audio.

Principalmente Zod ha capito che c’era un problema con il multi-touch che rallentava notevolmente i suoi emulatori. Alla luce di questa “scoperta” ha trovato il fix e l’ha implementato nella versione 5.0.

Ecco la lista delle novità:

• Migliorano le prestazioni, grazie anche all’aggiunta di nuovi registri R9
• Migliora la grafica chearriva a 60 Frames per second.
• Nessun rallentamento quando viene utilizzato il multi-touch
• Aggiunto un menu per i codici segreti per “truccare” i giochi.
• Migliorato il sistema del Menu. Le impostazioni si salvano senza riavviare il gioco.
• Aggiunta una nuova skin per i controlli e una nuova artwork. E’ anche possibile regolare l’opacità con una variabile che va da 0 a 100
• Tanti bug minori.

Icy, il front-end per l’installazione di package alternativo a Cydia, si è aggiornato alla versione 1.2; questo nuovo update porta con se interessanti cambiamenti. Vediamoli insieme:

• è stato aggiunto un nuovo pulsante nella sezione categorie; attraverso di esso possiamo disabilitare le categorie che non ci interessano e nasconderne i contenuti.
• è stata introdotta la localizzazione in ben 15 lingue diverse.
• è stato migliorato il refresh delle sources e corretto il bug che spesso bloccava il processo.

Today I received a nice text message from AT&T. It told me that if I upgrade to the newest software, I will receive “fewer dropped calls, improved battery life and get the latest enhancements to Maps, Mail and Safari.” It then went on to say exactly what I needed to do in order to upgrade. There are a few things I find strange about this text message…one, firmware 2.2.1 has been out since the end of January two, Doug’s grandma also received the same text message a few days ago (she is on firmware 2.2…as am I) however, neither Doug nor his grandfather received the text message (they are on 3.0 beta 2 and 2.2.1). This leads me to believe they are only sending it to people who are not on 2.2.1 or above. I’m curious to know if you also received the text message from AT&T and what firmware you are on. AppleInsider is reporting that the EasyPay system which Apple adopted in 2005 to improve queues at checkouts will be phased out this later this year. The system which currently runs on PDA devices running Windows Mobile will reportedly be replaced with iPhone units running customised point of sale software.

The device will also hook up to an external credit card reader thanks to the new iPhone 3.0 OS and the POS software will reportedly offer concierge, ordering and store management features according to AppleInsider.

The system is expected to hit stores in July with a full rollout by September.

Over the last few days MobileMe members have received emails from Apple informing them that the legacy .Mac website tools will be discontinued in July, web pages will remain live but they will no longer be editable.

Apple also mirrored the message on the .Mac homepage:

On July 7, 2009, we are retiring .Mac HomePage. Your published pages will remain live
on the web for as long as you wish after this date, but you will not be able to edit or delete them using HomePage. If you want to make changes to your existing pages, please do so before
July 7.

Apple goes onto recommend that moving forward users use MobileMe Gallery for online photo and movie sharing and iWeb websites.
