There are quite a few programs that allow you to create panoramas on the iPhone. I've reviewed some of them, and they all get pretty good reviews. The differences are often in how much work you have to do versus letting the software do the alignments of the various images. Since iPhone photos are almost always hand held, there are going to be issues of the camera not always being level.AutoStitch [App Store] is a US$1.99 app that gets most of the process just right. When you run it, it asks you to import images from your camera roll, as many as you like. They can be horizontal for a wide panorama, or stacked vertically. As an experiment I shot both vertically and horizontally, and rocked the camera significantly out of level by tilting it up to about 45 degrees. I took 10 images, and the software assembled the images in the proper order. There were a couple of gaps, where there was no image, but that was my fault, not the application's. The result was pretty impressive: not as a great image, but that AutoStitch could make sense out of the jumble of shots. You can see this image in the gallery I've created.
No panorama software I've seen is perfect. When I look closely at the full resolution images I see a bit of ghosting in the distant mountains, but overall AutoStitch is an excellent program that lets you take the pictures while it does the work. All panoramas need some cropping cleanup, and iPhoto can do this when you import from the camera. If you want to do all the post-processing on the iPhone itself, I suggest Photogene, [App Store] which will straighten and crop your photos, plus lots of other functions if you want them. It's a great US$2.99 investment. I'll be reviewing this app in a future post.

Qualche minuto fa, l’operatore 3 Italia ha lasciato un messaggio alquanto ambiguo su Twitter.
Anche se scritto un po’ male, riusciamo a leggere che quest’estate la frutta sarà buona da mangiare, ed in questo caso potrebbe riferirsi ad Apple (la mela) e alla commercializzazione dell’iPhone. L’altra frase è in grego ed in pratica sta ad indicare che si tratta di un messaggio crittografato.
In realtà è quasi del tutto improbabile che la 3 commercializzi il nuovo iPhone, dato che sul sito Apple vengono indicati soltanto i due storici operatori. Lo scorso anno successe esattamente la stessa cosa e alla fine non ci fu nessun accordo. Attendiamo ancora qualche giorno e lo scopriremo.
Aggiornamento: SOSTariffe mi ha appena scritto, riferendomi che a metà Giugno verrà presentato il BlackBerry Storm 2 per cui pensiamo proprio si tratti di questo!

Dopo le prime voci sui prezzi scelti dalla TIM, ora sono fuoriuscite le prime notizie anche su quelli che Vodafone ha scelto per la vendita dell’iPhone 3G S.
Si parla di 499€ per l’iPhone 3G S da 16 Gb e 599€ per il modello da 32 Gb.
Se tali prezzi fossero confermati, non solo si tratterebbe di ben 100€ in meno rispetto ai quelli previsti da TIM, ma la stessa TIM sarebbe praticamente obbligata a ripensare ai suoi prezzi ed adeguarli di conseguenza.
Ricordiamo, però, che si tratta solo di voci che non hanno ancora nulla di ufficiale.

Questo è l’emblematico messaggio che da qualche minuto compare sul canale Twitter ufficiale H3G Italia.
Frutta buona da mangiare potrebbe indicare proprio la mela, simbolo e logo della Apple…questo farebbe pensare a possibili accordi in vista tra l’operatore H3G e la Apple stessa.
La frase greca, invece, significa “crittografia”, in pratica un messaggio che nasconde la verità.
Che sia davvero arrivato il momento?
UPDATE: come giustamente ci fanno notare i nostri utenti Elionline85 e Rebus mille, la frutta potrebbe essere anche riferita alla mora, simbolo del BlackBerry. Inoltre le due B di BBONA potrebbero proprio riferirsi alla parola “B”lack “B”erry! 
Forse arriva una buona notizia per chi aspetta l’iPhone 3Gs e sta camminando per valli oscure dopo aver saputo le indiscrezioni sui prezzi che TIM applicherà per vendere il telefono senza contratto.
Poco prima delle 23.00, infatti, H3G ha pubblicato su Twitter uno strano messaggio che lascia ben sperare. Sul messaggio c’è scritto: crede che questa estate “LA FRUTTA saraà BBONA da magnare”. Seguite dalle parole greche che stanno per “occultus scribere” in latino.
La frutta buona da mangiare potrebbe indicare una Mela, il logo di Apple. La frase greca che segue, invece, significa “scrivere” e “nascosto” e ha dato origine alla parola italiana “crittografia”, cioè un messaggio in codice che cela la verità. Se la mia interpretazione è esatta significa che quella che vediamo in fondo al tunnel è proprio la luce.

Con l’inizio della circolazione delle copie di Snow Leopard per gli sviluppatori, c’era da aspettarselo che prima o poi uno di questi si lasciasse “sfuggire” le foto del nuovo sistema operativo. La build 10A380, infatti, è stata fonte di numerosi screenshot che stanno circolando nella rete nelle ultime ore.
Vi ricordo che Snow Leopard sarà disponibile da settembre. Non si conoscono ancora i prezzi italiani, ma negli USA è venduto a 129 $ per chi ha Tiger, 29 $ per chi ha Leopard e 49 $ per un family pack con 5 licenze.
