In questi giorni, dopo tanti indizi, abbiamo appurato che H3G Italia commercializzerà l’iPhone 3G S a partire da Luglio. I dettagli sul prezzo e sulle offerte ad abbonamento saranno rivelati la prossima settimana ma Macity ha fornito delle anticipazioni che potrebbero rivelarsi valide.
Secondo fonti attendibili, la 3 ha intenzione di intromettersi tra Tim e Vodafone offrendo l’iPhone 3G S ad un prezzo più economico rispetto a quello proposto dai suddetti operatori e delle promozioni particolarmente vantaggiose per quanto riguarda gli abbonamenti e le ricaricabili.
Per capire quanto potrebbero esser vantaggiose tali offerte, Macity ha messo a confronto alcune delle attuali tariffe presenti nei listini 3, Vodafone e Tim:
- 3 offre, ad esempio, 4GB di traffico incluso e 400 minuti di chiamate pagando 29€ al mese;
- Vodafone offre 2GB di traffico pagando 50€ al mese;
- Tim offre 1GB e 200 minuti di chiamate per 35€ mensili.
Stando alle parole degli informatori di Macity, le probabilità che queste tariffe 3 vengano applicate all’iPhone sono “alte”, anche se non si esclude la possibilità di qualche ritocco qui e li.
Per quanto riguarda le ricaribili, invece, sembra che la 3 abbia intenzione di dar vita ad una promozione particolare che, con impegno di ricarica mensile, includerà 3GB di dati fino alla fine del corrente anno. Una volta che l’offerta terminerà, le successive proposte per avere il traffico dati con la ricaricabile saranno altrettanto vantaggiose.
I pro e i contro dell’operatore 3.
- dispone di più frequenze rispetto ai diretti concorrenti e di meno clienti che caricano la banda;
- maggiore copertura nazionale per quanto riguarda la rete UMTS/HSDPA;
- mancanza di copertura EDGE e GPRS. In assenza di rete UMTS, quindi, le sim andranno in roaming e tutte le promozioni a loro associate non avranno validità causando l’aumento del costo del traffico dati.
Come già detto, le tariffe ufficiali di 3Italia per l’iPhone 3G S verranno rese note la settimana prossima. Vi terremo aggiornati.

It looks like our European friends will get first crack at an advanced turn-by-turn navigation app for the iPhone/iPod touch. MobileNavigator Europe [App Store] requires the 3.0 software, and looks to be fully featured:- 2D and 3D map displays
- Can be used in portrait and landscape format
- Branded UI features such as Reality View Pro, Lane Assistant Pro & "real signpost display"
- Speed Assistant with adjustable audio-visual warning
- Direct access and navigation to contacts saved in the iPhone's address book
- The latest NAVTEQ maps, 2M+ European POIs (points of interest)
- Navigation is automatically resumed after an incoming phone call
- Quick access to user-defined POIs in the area and along the route
- Take Me Home function with a single click
The Navigon app is US $94.99 (!) this month only, then the price goes up (!!!). The Navigon website doesn't yet show a list of the supported countries, but it's displayed in iTunes and is quite extensive (Albania to Vatican City with Estonia, Macedonia, San Marino & Slovenia + more in between). The app supports ten different languages and will automatically switch based on the selected language for the iPhone itself. The download weighs in at 1.65 GB.
This quick release of high quality navigation software should set mouths watering for a release over here, but I'm a bit troubled by the pricing, as you can buy a pretty fully featured low-end navigator for only a few more dollars.
Update: Our readers have also mentioned Gokivo, with a continuing US$9.95 a month subscription, and Sygic, which provides turn by turn navigation in Austrailia and New Zealand.

Ahhhh. The smell of new electronics, released from their cardboard box after a week long journey from Shenzhen, China to Highlands Ranch, Colorado. The texture of a clean, fresh iPhone encased in its plastic wrapper. The fun of finding not one, but two little Apple stickers in your package.
Yeah, it's unboxing time at the Sande household. It's my turn to take you through the delivery of not one, but two iPhone 3G S phones on 6/19/09, followed by the luscious views of a young, unsullied iPhone being taken out of a box and activated (well, not quite).
For those of you who bought your iPhone 3G S's on Friday, this will be a fond remembrance; if you didn't buy the latest iPhone, this is a cruel temptation to get you to exercise your credit or debit card at your local Apple or AT&T store. Enjoy the view!

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Apple CEO who is currently on leave from Apple due to health reasons received a liver transplant “about two months” ago.
The operation which was said to have taken place in Tennessee is being reported by the Journal as fact more than rumour although no sources are identified and a comment from Jobs’ personal spokeswoman Katie Cotton prompted the customary; “Steve continues to look forward to returning at the end of June, and there’s nothing further to say.”
The report adds some validity to a rumour which was initially ignored which stated that Steve Jobs was receiving medical treatment in Memphis, Tennessee.
Steve Jobs is expected to return to Apple at the end of June.

A distanza di dieci giorni dall’ultima build di Mac OS X 10.5.8 rilasciata agli sviluppatori e beta tester, ne giunge una tutta nuova: 9L16.
Con questo nuovo aggiornamento, pare siano stati risolti diversi piccoli problemi: collegamento di dispositivi audio USB a computer Mac Pro, un crash sistematico per alcune impostazioni di Airport, la compatibilità di Safari con ImageIO ed il collegamento Bluetooth in particolari circostanze.
Agli sviluppatori/tester è stato chiesto di concentrarsi maggiormente sulle seguenti applicazioni: iCal, ColorSync, Rubrica Indirizzi, Safari ed il collegamento di dispositivi USB. In questo momento non è possibile fornire una previsione attendibili circa la data di rilascio del, molto probabilmente, ultimo update di Leopard.

Pandorabox segnala che l’applicazione targata Gameloft che riprende le dinamiche della famosa serie TV americana è in offerta a 0,79 centesimi di euro.
Come altri titoli della famosa Software House, anche questo game è stato abbassato di prezzo, da 5,99€ a 0,79€.
