Pizza Hut è una nuova applicazione disponibile in AppStore tramite la quale è possibile ordinare la pizza nelle pizzerie “Pizza Hut” direttamente dal vostro iPhone, in modo: Facile, Veloce e Divertente! E’ un’applicazione davvero ben fatta (e vi consiglio di guardare il video di seguito) ma che purtroppo può essere utilizzata soltanto in america.

L’applicazione permette di scegliere nei minimi particolari la pizza che desideriamo, scegliendo gli ingredienti, la disposizione, la grandezza e tante altre particolarità, potremo ordinare anche tante  stuzzicherei e tramite l’accelerometro decideremo il grado di condimento ed altro. Dopo aver scelto cosa mangiare, è possibile inviare l’ordine al Pizza Hut più vicino e nell’attesa che venga consegnato a casa c’è anche un giochino divertente.

Pizza Hut è compatibile con iPhone e iPodTouch, richiede il firmware 2.1 o successivi ed è localizzata in Inglese; ricordiamo che l’applicazione, seppur bella, funziona soltanto per i residenti U.S.

Agile Messenger was recently updated to support iPhone OS 3.0's push notifications. The obvious comparison will be to BeejiveIM, since they both do the same thing: provide a multi-client chat app offering push notifications on your iPhone. We'll have a hands-on with Beejive later, but this is how Agile Messenger (iTunes link) works. Oh, and we're giving away five promo codes so you can try it yourself, just check the end of this post.

The first screen in Agile Messenger is a series of switches for each protocol supported. These switches make it easy to see what you're connecting to when you tap the Connect button. There's support for ICQ, MSN, AIM, Yahoo, Jabber and Google. You can only log in to one account per service, however, so if you have 2 Google accounts, you're going to log in to one at a time. I'm told they are working to change this.

Once you are connected, Agile sets your status to "Available." If you close out of the app the defaults will set your status to "Away," although I soon changed it to keep me available even if I close out the app. In addition to your status, Agile adds the "Mobile with AgileMessenger" message, which I could do without. You can change this behavior in the app's preferences but you can only toggle it off. If you want to change your status, you have to change each account separately, instead of one global change. That's a bummer. There's a setting to auto-connect in the preferences, if you'd rather skip a step.

Agile's menus use rounded rectangles everywhere, and pop up like the old VH-1 series, Pop-Up Video. It's a nice visual touch, and if you want to back out of a menu just tap anywhere else on the screen but in the menu -- slightly faster than a dedicated Back button. By using the pop-up menus you can drill down into anything, but mostly contact management and preferences. Once in preferences, the buttons become standard iPhone UI, which is good, because there are bunches of switches. Pictures of the preferences in the gallery.

Nell’articolo precedente, relativo a 3G Unrestrictor, sono stati raccolti diversi commenti di utenti che non riuscivano più ad aprire ed utilizzare Cydia (me compreso). Questo malfunzionamento si è verificato in maniera improvvisa, senza aver installato alcuna applicazione in particolare. Vediamo da cosa dipende il problema e come risolverlo.

La natura del problema è incerta, ma sicuramente sarà collegata a qualche package inserito o rimosso da BigBoss, probabilmente proprio 3G Unrestrictor.

Le soluzioni per risolvere il problema sono molteplici e variano a seconda dei casi.

Primo Metodo

Rimuovere la Repository di BigBoss:

1. Collegatevi in SSH al vostro iPhone/iPod Touch utilizzando le applicazioni Cyberduck o WinSCP.

2. Entrate in questo percorso: “/etc/apt/sources.list.d/” ed eliminate il file “.list” di BigBoss.

3. Eseguite un respring

Ri-Aggiungere la Repository di BigBoss:

1. Avviate Cydia

2. Entrate nella sezione Search

3. Digitate BigBoss ed installate il Package

Secondo Metodo

Solo per Utenti Windows:

Scaricate quest’applicazione ClearCydiaListCache.zip, (richiede il .NET installato). Estraete il file zip e spostate i file sul Desktop. Cliccate due volte sull’eseguibile (.exe) e poi sul tasto START. Apparirà una schermata di conferma e dovrete dare l’ok.

Terzo Metodo

1. Collegatevi in SSH al vostro iPhone, ed entrate nel seguente percorso: “/private/var/lib/apt/lists”

2. Troverete vari file ed una cartella

3. Rimuovete tutto MA PRESTATE BENE ATTENZIONE A NON CANCELLARE LA CARTELLA “partial”

4. Aprite Cydia

Nota: Questo problema si verifica soltanto sugli iPhone delle persone che hanno lanciato Cydia nei 10 minuti in cui BigBoss aveva hostato un package corrotto. Tutte le altre persone non devono seguire alcuna guida poichè il problema ormai è risolto.
