Star Hogs, è un gioco strategico simile al più famoso Worms. Fu presentato durante l’ultimo E3 ed il nostro scopo sarà chiaramente quello di eliminare gli avversari, con una tattica ed una strategia ben sviluppata. Il gioco, nonostante fosse stato scontato soltanto 2 giorni, ha subito un altro importante calo nel prezzo, che lo porta a 0.79€.

Vi segnaliamo inoltre che, da pochi giorni, è arrivato anche l’aggiornamento alla versione 1.1, di cui vi avevamo già parlato ed ha aggiunto le seguenti caratteristiche:

• Interfaccia grafica molto migliorata;
• Chat in-game durante una partita online multiplayer;

Siamo ancora in attesa del Pacchetto di mappe acquistabili (tramite l’In-App Purchase) che aggiungerà ben 32 nuovi scenari.

Non appena sapremo qualcosa, naturalmente, sarete avvisati tramite un nuovo articolo. Star Hogs è compatibile con iPhone e iPod Touch, richiede il firmware 2.0 o successivi ed è localizzata in Inglese. Ecco un video dimostrativo del gioco:

E’ da qualche mese che non introduco novità nella piattaforma del blog: oggi tocca ai commenti. Da un po’ di tempo mi chiedevano un sistema migliore per gestirli e il buon Stefano mi ha suggerito Disqus.

Disqus si integra perfettamente in Wordpress e apporta molte funzione aggiuntive rispetto al sistema base. Innanzitutto elimina i problemi sorti negli ultimi giorni, quando qualcuno dalla coscienza poco pulita inseriva commenti a nome di altri utenti infamandoli. Questo non succederà più perchè per commentare ora dovrete accedere con un account. Ho voluto evitare registrazioni al blog, ma sono certo che ognuno di voi ha almeno un account su Facebook, Twitter o OpenID. Se non lo avete c’è anche la registrazione di Disqus, molto semplice e veloce.

Una volta effettuato il login avrete diverse funzioni, tra cui:

• Una pagina personale che raccoglie tutti i commenti lasciati in questo blog e negli altri blog dove userete il vostro account.
• La possibilità di rispondere al singolo commento.
• La possibilità di linkare il singolo commento.
• L’iscrizione via email del post per essere informati sulla pubblicazione di nuovi commenti.
• Possibilità di ripubblicare un commento nel vostro blog, spedire via email un commento, esprimere una preferenza su un commento o segnalarlo se contiene contenuto offensivo.

Vorrei sapere se il sistema vi piace. Direi di tenerlo per qualche giorno, se proprio non vi piace possiamo tornare indietro in qualsiasi istante.

Are you tired of all of those icons from screenshots you've taken cluttering up space on your desktop? If you would like them in a different place when you snap them, here's a command to change the location.

Using the Terminal, enter the following command to change the location:

defaults write com.apple.screencapture location ~/Pictures

This snippet will change the default location of saving the screenshot to the Pictures folder. You can also set this location to any folder or volume on your Mac, just substitute ~/Pictures in this command to whatever you want. Once you've run this command, you'll need to restart the SystemUIServer (used to control certain interface elements in Mac OS X), by entering killall SystemUIServer in the Terminal.

If you don't want to use the Terminal, many of the popular Mac maintenance utilities, including OnyX (free). TinkerTool (free), and Cocktail ($14.95), will allow you to change the location of snapped screenshots.

If you're snapping a lot of screenshots, changing the location can be very useful, especially if you're on a portable Mac with limited disk space. Each screenshot can sometimes be over 1MB in size, so if you're tight on space it can be a good idea to store your screenshots elsewhere, like on an external hard drive.

There's also a handy suggestion from our own TJ Luoma: redirect your screenshots to a cached/synchronized folder, like the Pictures folder on your iDisk (if you have iDisk Sync turned on) or a folder in your Dropbox, Live Mesh or SugarSync directories for instant screenshot sharing among multiple machines.
