The Perseid meteor shower should peak tomorrow, August 12, and stay spectacular for a few days after. If you've got the means, I highly recommend you check it out. Quite a show. I'm not sure an iPhone camera would do it justice, but you can prove me wrong by submitting your Perseid meteor shower shots on our TUAW tumblr page. They don't really have to be taken with the iPhone, so if you have a nice telescope, don't be shy.To celebrate the Perseids we're giving away 25 copies of Distant Suns, a nifty astronomy app for the iPhone and iPod touch (which we've covered before), in one of our patented random giveaways. As usual, this is limited to the US (sorry!), you must be over 18, and so forth. Full rules down below. To enter, just leave us a comment telling us whether you've seen the Perseids.

Apple ha da poco rilasciato un aggiornamento per il browser web Safari, che arriva alla versione 4.0.3. L’aggiornamento, consigliato a tutti gli utenti, include miglioramenti alla stabilità, compatibilità e sicurezza, tra cui:
- Miglioramenti alla stabilità per le pagine web che utilizzano l’etichetta video HTML 5
- Risoluzione di un problema che impediva ad alcuni utenti di effettuare il login a iWork.com
- Risoluzione di un problema per cui a volte i contenuti web venivano visualizzati in scala di grigi anziché a colori
L’aggiornamento è disponibile come sempre tramite Aggiornamento Software o tramite download diretto, e “pesa” 40,5 Mb per Leopard e 26 Mb per Tiger.

Il negozio Aprirà entro la prima metà di settembre all’interno del centro commerciale Carosello e noi continueremo a mostrarvi le immagini “evolutive”.

Ecco l’oggetto misterioso e il nome del vincitore

Quasi 70 tentativi e un solo vincitore. Chi è stato così veloce da indovinare l’oggetto misterioso rappresentato da un frammento di foto? La risposta è Bobo che ha capito che l’immagine ritraeva esattamente un iPod Shuffle 2G.
Mi dispiace per tutti quanti gli altri e per coloro avevano risposto solo iPod Shuffle, la risposta era troppo generica e non identificava correttamente il prodotto.
Bobo riceve a casa un portachiavi Melamorsicata. Chi non ha vinto non ha da temere, ci sono tanti altri misteri da risolvere e altrettanti portachiavi da vincere. Restate collegati.

Andrea Vettori ha da poche ore aggiornato la sua applicazione, Music Library Quiz, un gioco molto divertente che mette alla prova le nostre abilità nel riconoscere i brani della libreria multimediale, ascoltandone soltanto pochi secondi. Vediamo insieme le novità di questa versione.
- Quattro nuovissime modalità di gioco: senza limite, 20 brani, 2 minuti e 5 minuti;
- Interfaccia grafica migliorata;
- Possibilità di selezionare le playlist da cui prendere la musica che si andrà successivamente ad ascoltare;
- Aggiunta la possibilità di iniziare l’ascolto di un brano da un punto casuale e non dall’inizio;
- Aggiunta una opzione che permette di animare lo sfondo;
- Corretti alcuni problemi che si verificavano quando l’applicazione lavorava con delle librerie musicali molto grandi.
Il gioco e’ diverso da “MusicIQ” in quanto riesce a fare anche domande sulle copertine, sugli artisti e sugli album senza limite di tempo. Man mano che avanzeremo, aumenterà anche la difficoltà ed il relativo punteggio generato. Music Library Quiz è disponibile in AppStore, richiede il firmware 3.0 o successivo ed è localizzata in Inglese e Italiano.
