Apple blocca la produzione di iPod. Le scorte degli attuali modelli sono quasi terminate!

Stando alle notizie ricevute da ArsTechnica e provenienti da un Rivenditore Autorizzato Apple, tutte le scorte degli attuali modelli iPod stanno per terminare ed i negozi non verranno riforniti.
Questo evidenzia chiaramente il fatto che durante il prossimo evento musicale di settembre, Apple rinnoverà completamente l’intera linea di iPod ed è sempre più probabile che verranno aggiunte delle fotocamere da 3.2 MP sui nuovi Touch, Nano e Classic. Staremo a vedere!

Hell freezes over; Now X Client for Mac now shipping

In a surprise move after years of breathless anticipation by users of Now Up-To-Date and Contact, Now Software released Now X Client for Mac on Thursday, August 27, 2009. In case you're wondering, yes, this was the calendar and contact app formerly known as Nighthawk.Why the snarky tone? Well,
Even this announcement is somewhat tainted. There's no Windows version of Now X for people in multi-platform offices, the much-touted server module isn't done, and the FAQ page states that "Now X runs on both Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger and Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard." Uh, guys, while you were developing this application, Apple came out with something called Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.
Now Software also states that Now X syncs to iPhone, but there's no iPhone client -- it simply syncs Up-To-Date info to Calendar and Contact to Contacts. Most other apps of this type, including Marketcircle Daylite, have an accompanying iPhone app. The company says that the app "is being designed." From past experience, Now X users looking for an iPhone version may have a very long wait ahead of them.

Apple dichiara: L’esplosione dello schermo degli iPhone non dipende dalla batteria ma da un’eccessiva pressione dello schermo

La scorsa settimana vi abbiamo riportato l’intenzione di Apple di investigare sulla questione degli iPhone esplosi in Francia, ed anche il Governo Francese per la tutela dei Consumatori aveva avanzato una richiesta in tal senso. Oggi si sono avuti i primi riscontri ufficiali ed ecco quello che ne scaturisce:
Secondo dichiarazioni di Apple gli incidenti non dipendono da problemi della batteria, ma sono stati tutti causati da un’eccessiva pressione sullo schermo dell’iPhone. Gli utenti con il display crepato infatti, avevano la batteria ancora integra e di conseguenza si pensa che lo schermo abbia subito uno shock iniziale, che l’ha indebolito notevolmente senza danni visibili, per poi frantumarsi in un secondo momento, al tocco leggero di un determinato punto debole.
