“Guerrilla Bob” è un divertentissimo shooter game che verrà pubblicato nelle prossime settimane su AppStore.

Il gioco è ambientato in Sud America, e proprio come Minigore, prevede l’uso di due pad, uno per i movimenti e l’altro per sparare.

I stopped by my local Apple Store (Tucson) today for a quick look around and saw many people playing with the new Magic Mouse. I tried a few 'moves' with in and it seemed a bit nicer and more responsive than I expected. My old Apple wired mouse was starting to wear out so I asked one of the Apple guys when they were coming in. He said "20 minutes ago," so I was snared.

My first 'thrill' was opening the damned box. Like most Apple designed products, the plastic container is very pretty, but was a bit of a struggle to open. I needed a sharp knife, and then had to find the hidden tape that keeps the Magic Mouse attached to a little plastic base.

Since this is a Bluetooth mouse, I paired it to my Mac. It worked out of the box, but I knew there was a software update with new drivers, so I checked and downloaded the new software.

After a reboot, all was well. I have to say that the Magic Mouse has the fanciest control panel in system preferences I've ever seen. There is a little video illustrating how it works. I left the settings to the default, and started mousing away.

There were really no surprises. I have a 30 inch monitor, and can't get all the way across it with a single swipe because I have limited desk real estate. None of the settings would make it better.

The top surface is smooth and comfortable. The mouse does sit lower than a standard rodent, but I wasn't bothered by it. Clicking on the right side of the surface gives you the second mouse button with no pain or problem. You can switch the left and right 'buttons' if you are so inclined.

Scrolling was smooth, and you can adjust the momentum of the scroll. I especially like the 2 finger swipe for going backward and forward in web pages and iPhoto.

The only thing I think was missing is that I'd like the surface of the mouse to mimic the iPhone gesture of pinching and spreading for zoom in / zoom out. You have to use the control key to enable zooming, and I'd rather not have to go to the keyboard for that.

Otherwise, everything was good. I'll get used to the different feel. The mouse comes with batteries already installed so you're ready to go -- once you get the damned package open...

Some of my colleagues here at TUAW will be sharing their thoughts shortly. So far, even though this was a bit of an impulse purchase, the Magic Mouse seems fine.

Electronic Arts ed Hasbro continueranno a collaborare per portare nuovi e famosissimi giochi da tavolo su iPhone ed iPod Touch. Tra questi troviamo: Monopoly Classic, Battleship e Connect 4.

Il primo è simile al Monopoly che conosciamo già da diversi mesi ma si tratta della versione originale con la possibilità di giocare in multiplayer tramite WiFi e Bluetooth.

Battleship consiste nella battaglia navale con una grafica davvero molto curata, ottime animazioni e chiodini colorati. Avremo anche armi segrete da scoprire e la modalità multiplayer tramite WiFi e Bluetooth.

Il terzo ed ultimo gioco è Connect 4, conosciuto in Italia con il nome di “Forza 4″. Anche in questo caso ci saranno ottime animazioni, controlli basati sul touchscreen e non dovremo fare altro che cercare di accoppiare 4 monetine dello stesso colore. Nemmeno in questo caso manca la modalità Multiplayer WiFi e Bluetooth.

Le date di rilascio restano ancora un mistero ma vi terremo aggiornati sui nuovi dettagli.

L’ufficio Patent & Trademark americano ha pubblicato un nuovo brevetto Apple relativo ad un modulo removibile pensato appositamente per aggiungere nuove funzioni all’iPod Touch

Il dispositivo Apple potrebbe quindi leggere le circuit cards (ICCs), le chip cards, le memory card, ed anche le SIM card. Il funzionamento non è semplice e non risulta ben chiaro, tuttavia non è la prima volta che sentiamo parlare della possibilità di collegare una SIM card all’iPod Touch. In genere prima di vedere realizzato un brevetto passano degli anni ma, se ci sarà possibile, continueremo a seguire la faccenda.

E’ appena stato rilasciato un nuovo aggiornamento di iTunes che arriva alla versione 9.0.2. Di seguito trovate il changelog:

iTunes 9.0.2 aggiunge il supporto per il software Apple TV versione 3.0, aggiunge inoltre un’opzione di sfondo scuro per la Vista griglia e migliora il supporto di accessibilità. L’accessibilità a iTunes Store richiede Window-Eyes 7.1.1 o una versione successiva.

Oggi inoltre, sono stati aggiornati i termini e le condizioni di utilizzo per l’AppStore, proprio in vista dell’Apple TV 3.0. Infine, tanto per cambiare, questa nuova versione di iTunes blocca la sincornizzazione con il Palm Pre.

Aggiornamento: MuscleNerd ha appena confermato che l’aggiornamento non ostacola il Jailbreak e quindi la possibilità di caricare Firmware personalizzati è rimasta inalterata. Potete aggiornare tranquillamente alla 9.0.2

Continuano i miglioramenti di Google per la piattaforma Gmail Mobile e già da qualche giorno in USA, tutti gli utenti iPhone e Android possono usufruire di una pratica funzione che permette di espandere automaticamente il box di scrittura in base alla lunghezza del testo.

In questo modo eviteremo lo scrolling interno che spesso risulta seriamente difficoltoso, a favore di uno scrolling totale di tutta la pagina. Purtroppo accedendo a Gmail dall’Italia notiamo che la miglioria non è ancora stata adottata nel nostro Paese, tuttavia siamo sicuri che arriverà a breve.

Sicuramente non si tratta di una rivoluzione informatica ma trovo sempre degna di nota la serietà e la costanza di una società come quella di Google che non smette mai di evolversi e di adattarsi alle esigenze delle persone che usano il Web tutto il giorno, anche dai propri cellulari.

Oltre ad una sezione dedicata alle applicazioni per Halloween, Apple ha pensato bene di crearne un’altra per il Calcio. Si chiama Football e al momento raccoglie circa 24 applicazioni.

EA e Hasbro hanno comunicato che nei prossimi mesi verranno rilasciato tre nuovi giochi su AppStore.

Si tratta di:

• Monopoly World Edition: una versione internazionale del classico gioco da tavola, per ora disponibile solo in USA.
• Battleship: battaglia navale con multiplayer locale
• Connect 4: il classico forza 4
